Father Christmas at Bolton Abbey - team members We are on the lookout for a number of people to fill a couple of different roles to help us make our Father Christmas event as magical as possible. The roles will involve working on the following dates from 8.30am - 5pm: 22, 23, 29, 30 November, 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21, 22, 23 December. Firstly, we need a cheeky, chatty, organised elf to help assist Father Christmas in meeting all of the wonderful families that are due to visit. This person must be an excellent timekeeper in order to assist with the smooth running of the event. Secondly, we need a few craftspeople who can help lead the craft activities during the event. Experience in teaching or Forest School activity skills would be really helpful for this role. Again, time keeping is essential to ensure the smooth running of the event. Both roles require candidates who are very confident in public speaking, enthusiastic, positive, organised and who can sprinkle a little bit of magic on each child’s experience. It is also very important candidates are comfortable to work outdoors - there will be shelters but ultimately the event is outside. Bolton Abbey Estate, the Yorkshire home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, comprises 28,000 acres including let farms, moorland and woodland. There are also a significant number of houses, cottages and commercial properties, many of which are listed, including the ancient ruins of the 12 th century Bolton Priory upon which the Estate is focussed. In addition to the let estate, the estate has in hand catering, tourism and retail interests. Our core values include “Being Inclusive” and we particularly welcome applications from disabled and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates who are currently under-represented. We also welcome applicants from the LGBTQ community. Flexible ways of working will always be considered.
