Role Overview
A leading company in the mining industry is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to join their team at Boulby Mine, North Yorkshire. This 6‑month fixed‑term contract offers a unique chance to be part of a pioneering operation in the production of polyhalite, a multi‑nutrient fertiliser marketed as Polysulphate. As the Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting analytical testing and quality control activities across mining and production operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Conduct routine laboratory analysis on polyhalite, fertiliser products, and rock salt samples.
* Perform chemical and physical testing in line with internal quality standards.
* Prepare samples, reagents, and calibration standards.
* Accurately record and report data using laboratory information systems.
Role Requirements
* Relevant degree in Chemistry, Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
* Proven industry experience in a laboratory or analytical environment.
* A working knowledge and practical experience with basic chemistry and analytical techniques.
