Roche’s Research and Early Development organisations at Genentech (gRED) and Pharma (pRED) have demonstrated how these technologies accelerate R&D, leveraging data and novel computational models to drive impact. Seamless data sharing and access to models across gRED and pRED are essential to maximising these opportunities. The new computational sciences Center of Excellence (CoE) is a strategic, unified group whose goal is to harness this transformative power of data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to assist our scientists in both pRED and gRED to deliver more innovative and transformative medicines for patients worldwide. Within the CoE, the Data & Digital Catalysts team is driving the modernisation of our computational and data ecosystems, enabling seamless data sharing and integration of new technologies. As a Data Delivery and New Data Modalities Expert, you will play a pivotal role in shaping FAIR data practices and ensuring that high-quality data fuels AI/ML applications that ultimately benefit patients worldwide. You will: Collaborate with automation, bioinformatics and machine learning teams to enable efficient data ingestion, acquisition, and storage. Lead or contribute to initiatives that modernise data management and curation solutions, embedding FAIR principles. Design and implement solutions that ensure data is ready for AI/ML, driving policy compliance and data quality. Support integrated systems with data architecture expertise, contributing to vision, standards and governance. Foster a OneRoche, data-centric mindset by advocating for data standards and best practices across teams. Who You Are You bring a strong mix of technical expertise, collaborative spirit, and curiosity. Your background includes: Proven ability in Python development and large-scale data management (lakes, warehouses, integration). Experience with distributed systems, APIs (GraphQL, REST, WebSocket), and high-dimensional datasets such as genomics. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g. Redshift, Databricks, Snowflake, Spark). Knowledge of data governance, modelling (relational and non-relational), and agile methodologies. A scientific or engineering education, or equivalent practical expertise, with an ability to translate between science and technology. Experience in biotech or pharma is a plus.
