About the Post
London Metropolitan University School of Human Sciences is looking to recruit a Senior Lecturer in Mental Health Nursing. The successful applicant will be a Registered Mental Health Nurse with a passion for developing mental health nursing careers in community, social care and inpatient settings. With an established background in nursing education within both university and practice settings, you will ideally be in possession of a higher education teaching award such as the HEA fellowship or similar. You will have a passion for nurse education, widening participation, and a drive to see our students succeed.
Responsibilities & Key Activities
* Lead the practice education element of the BSc (Hons) Nursing (Mental Health).
* Develop skill development, placement sourcing, development and audit.
* Maintain good knowledge of the changing landscape of primary, community and social care and drive toward interprofessional, place-based, and integrated care working.
* Embed values-driven, socially just and inclusive teaching and learning approaches.
* Promote primary, community and social care careers through innovative simulated placements and clinical placements within the nursing curriculum.
* Support the ambitious Simulation and Skills Suite and interprofessional learning opportunities.
Qualifications
* Registered Mental Health Nurse.
* Experience in nursing education in university and practice settings.
* Higher education teaching award (HEA fellowship or similar).
* Passion for nurse education, widening participation and student success.
* Knowledge of primary, community and social care landscapes.
