The Role:

The Business Development Manager role is a full-time permanent position based in United Kingdom with a fully remote work setup.


Reporting to the General Manager - UK, the primary objective of the role is to generate revenue through new partnerships, aligned to the local revenue targets for the market. An ability to manage key accounts will also be critical to the success of the role as the individual will be expected to establish and maintain relations with OpenSolar’s strategic partners in this region.


Previous working experience for a solar, electrical or renewables distribution or wholesale organisation or business development work in renewable energy events or for leading technology manufacturers where an established network already exists would be advantageous.


As an in market subject matter expert, this role offers the ability to directly influence and shape the OpenSolar product, supporting the localisation of the platform, researching and addressing pain points and platform opportunities for new users.


Your key responsibilities:

* Deliver new revenue for the Geography, aligned to the monthly revenue targets in the market
* Own reporting into the General Manager and the Global Head of Commercial for your own P&L, market trends and new strategic opportunities for revenue growth
* Identify and research potential strategic partners that could further OpenSolar’s mission
* Develop and maintain partner relationships
* Support the General Manager with Account Management duties, serving existing partners to support their retention and upsell new product features
* Research and inform relevant stakeholders of opportunities in new markets
* Conduct reconciliations of our data with financial partners’ records
* Represent and promote OpenSolar at relevant events
* Work with the global commercial team to share best practices and create a virtual team community
* Arrange in-person, virtual and remote meetings with key stakeholders from potential partner organizations, create and foster new opportunities through pro-active business development work


What you’ll need:

* Be hungry, revenue focused and strategically minded to uncover revenue opportunities for OpenSolar.
* An ability to forecast, manage and deliver a profitable business portfolio, with the necessary analytical and commercial skills.
* Have a genuine passion for engaging new and existing strategic partners.
* Research skills to uncover opportunities within core markets.
* Excellent communication skills - be a good listener with excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Competence in managing user and partner expectations while working with a software development team
* Ability to manage and analyze large datasets.
* Highly organized, good time-management and structured in your work style.
* High attention to detail and a passion for problem solving.
* Ability to think quickly and solve problems on the spot in a fast paced scale up environment.
* The desire to positively contribute to shaping organizational culture and be part of a diverse team.
