About your role
As a Senior Support Worker, you will be supporting individuals with complex needs such as Autism, Learning Disabilities, challenging behaviours, physical disabilities, and Mental Health conditions.
Role Responsibilities
15. Provide support in a way that is respectful, promotes dignity and independence.
16. Provide support in any location appropriate to meet the needs of the people we support.
17. Communicating with the people you support using appropriate communication methods.
18. Assisting with individuals’ care, including personal care.
19. Participating in the development and implementation of support plans.
20. Assisting the people we support with household activities.
21. Ordering, receiving, storing, and administering medication to the people you support.
22. Participating, planning, and running of the day-to-day events of the service.
23. Recording and completing any appropriate documentation.
Role Requirements
24. Excellent communication skills, as well as excellent listening skills, as you will be supporting people who use various methods of communication.
25. Knowledge/experience/desire to support individuals with Mental Health, Learning Disabilities or Challenging Behaviour is essential.
26. Ongoing commitment to own personal development and training.
27. As senior support worker you will also undertake delegated supervisory management responsibilities and provide leadership to less experienced staff to ensure the development of best care practice and optimal outcomes for clients.
28. Ideally you will have an NVQ level 3 or substantial experience of working in a similar environment.
