Job summary
Hywel Dda University Health Board is looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, and ambitious General Practitioner to join the team of senior medical leaders in the role of Clinical Director - Primary Care & Community Services for Carmarthenshire.
Supporting the Deputy Medical Director - Primary Care and Community Services, the successful post holder will carry out responsibilities associated with Primary Care & Community including clinical governance and the provision of services.

Main duties of the job
Main duties of the role will include :
1. leading on clinical governance & overseeing the quality and safety of managed practices
2. managing Primary Care investigations and concerns
3. attending local and national meetings relating to Primary Care and the interface between primary and secondary care
4. providing advice and support relating to Primary Care and Community matters
5. working with key stakeholders including the Executive Team and Senior Clinicians, to develop and deliver Primary Care and Community Services
6. dealing with contracting issues, to ensure that clinical services can be delivered effectively and efficiently

Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;
Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.

7. Medical Degree
8. Full registration with the GMC
9. On the Wales Medical Performers List
10. Evidence of continuous professional development
11. A developed understanding of the whole system approach to health and social care
Desirable
12. MSc, MD or other higher qualifications
13. Management qualification
14. Membership of the Faculty for Medical Leaders and Managers (FMLM)
Experience
Essential
15. Proven record of management at a senior level
16. Track record of leadership in a complex area of healthcare
17. Well versed in the current issues facing the NHS including strategies to tackle them
18. Demonstrable experience of partnership working across health and social care
19. Experience of leading change management and service redesign

20. Evidence of previous experience in similar role requiring similar skills and knowledge and track record of achievement
