Key Responsibilities
- Manage the overall relationship and client service delivery
- Develop and maintain deep, trusted relationships at senior levels
- Establish a detailed understanding of the client’s business model, strategy, and investment requirements to proactively identify opportunities
- Define and execute client-specific growth strategies, aligned to firm-wide objectives
- Identify new revenue opportunities across asset classes, structures and channels
- Lead negotiations on commercial terms ensuring sustainable and scalable relationships
- Position the firm as a long-term strategic partner, not solely a product provider
- Translate client requirements into clear, actionable investment mandates coordinating across internal areas including Investment teams, Product Specialists, Client Service, Operations, Legal and Compliance
- Oversee and challenge the execution of investment mandates on behalf of the client
- Coordinate internal resources and create partnerships across teams to ensure effective delivery of key client objectives
- Act as the key point of contact for board members and investment committees
- Develop and maintain formal account plans
- Develop a broad understanding of asset classes across the Aegon Group and connect opportunities appropriately
- Ensure the client perspective is represented in business decision‑making
- Maintain compliance with regulatory, legislative, and internal governance requirements, including SMCR and MiFID II
- Maintain accurate and timely records of client interactions and pipeline
- Provide high‑quality management information on client performance, risks, and opportunities
- Undertake ongoing professional development to meet knowledge & competence requirements
Qualifications
- Significant experience in asset management distribution or client relationship management
- Strong track record of managing and growing strategic client relationships
- A broad understanding of investment markets and products across asset classes
- The ability to identify, shape and clearly articulate new investment opportunities
- Strong awareness of how operational implementation and delivery models impact investment outcomes
- A collaborative mindset, with the ability to build strong working relationships across teams
- Confidence to lead where appropriate and take ownership of key initiatives
- A track record of encouraging strategic thinking and driving forward client development approaches
- Demonstrable experience working with investment markets and clients over the longer term
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders
