About the Role:
* Lead and manage the Geography department, providing strategic direction and inspiring a shared vision for excellence in Geography education.
* Oversee the delivery of a high-quality Geography curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring that it is engaging, challenging, and relevant to our students' needs and aspirations.
* Lead, motivate, and develop a team of talented Geography teachers, providing support, guidance, and professional development opportunities.
* Oversee the organisation and delivery of a diverse program of extracurricular Geography activities, including fieldwork, trips, and clubs.
* Foster a love of Geography in all students, encouraging them to explore the world around them, develop their geographical skills, and become informed and responsible global citizens.
* Manage the department's budget and resources effectively.
* Build strong relationships with parents, external examiners, and the wider school community.
* Contribute to the school's strategic development and promote the value of Geography education.
Ideal Candidate:
* Holds QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
* Possesses a degree in Geography or a related field.
* Has a proven track record of successful leadership and management in a Geography education setting.
* Demonstrates a passion for Geography education and a commitment to student success.
* Has excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
* Is confident in building rapport with students, staff, and parents.
* Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Geography and relevant examination specifications.
