A supportive specialist school in Woodley is recruiting a Mental Health Assistant to work closely with children and young people who require emotional, behavioural, and therapeutic support. This role is ideal for someone who wants meaningful, hands-on experience working alongside professionals in a nurturing, trauma-informed setting.
As a Mental Health Assistant you'll support pupils with Autism, ADHD, anxiety, attachment needs, and emotional regulation difficulties, helping them feel safe, understood, and ready to engage with learning.
What the Mental Health Assistant role involves:
Supporting students 1:1 and in small groups
Helping young people manage emotions, behaviour, and transitions
Encouraging positive coping strategies and emotional resilience
Working closely with therapists, teachers, and SEN professionals
Creating a calm, predictable, and supportive environmentRole details:
Location: Woodley
Pay: £89-£100 per day
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
