As part of a skill mix exercise, we are excited to offer a dietetic clinical lead role to support our paediatric service. This post offers a fantastic opportunity to develop leadership skills while maintaining a clinically specialist caseload. The post will lead the transformation of the paediatric dietetic team and may take the lead for department‑wide projects or workstreams. Flexibility is available in the clinical element to match the applicant’s experience – possibilities include Diabetes, Home enteral feeding or Neonates. Training can be provided for the right candidate. The current paediatric dietetic team at Great Western Hospital consists of 4.5 WTE registered dietitians, supported by dietetic assistants and our administration team, and covers inpatient, outpatient and home enteral feeding caseloads.
To lead the continual improvement of designated areas of the Nutrition & Dietetic service so the service develops in line with the Trust direction and provides an efficient, effective, high‑quality service for our patients.
To be operationally responsible for day‑to‑day management of the Nutrition & Dietetic service, ensuring timely management of referrals, and the commencement of nutrition and dietetic assessments and treatment.
To ensure the service’s local performance indicators are robust and evolve as required to support both Trust and National Standards, delivering a high‑quality, effective service where patient experience and safety are central.
To support the Head of Nutrition & Dietetics in developing a shared vision and set of service values, embedding a culture where all staff understand these, are involved in their development, and work towards them to support the Trust’s strategy and objectives.
