ROLE: Draughtsman
LOCATION: Southampton
TERM: Permanent
SALARY: GBP 30,000 : GBP 42,000, dependent on experience
My client is a specialist product designer and manufacturer. They are looking for a Draughtsman to join their team in Southampton on a permanent basis.
The Draughtsman will ideally have the following attributes:
: HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / Degree qualified in Design, Engineering or similar
: 0:3 years' or more of experience in a similar Design / CAD Operation position
: Knowledge of manufacturing processes including sheet metal, fabrication and welded parts
: Be proficient using 2D CAD software such as AutoCAD
: Previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
: Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
: Proficient using MS Office
: Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
: Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi:disciplinary team
The Draughtsman role will involve:
: Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
: Producing fabrication drawings to bespoke requirements
: Communicating directly with clients to determine requirements
: Liaising with manufacturing providers
: Being involved in final assembly of products
: Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
: Updating 3D models and drawings
: Checking drawings for sign off
: Working in a small multi:disciplinary team on varied projects
