Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled, and customer-focused Catering & Barista Assistant to support the Chef Manager in delivering a high-quality, in-house catering service to Cubic employees. This role is central to creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for our team through excellent food, beverages, and service.
Key Responsibilities
Barista & Beverage Service
* Prepare and serve coffee and other beverages to order, following Cubic’s quality standards and customer preferences
* Maintain expert knowledge of our coffee offerings and educate customers on available options
* Ensure safe, hygienic, and efficient preparation of drinks
Customer Service & Front of House
* Deliver exceptional customer service with a professional and personable approach
* Take orders and process payments accurately, upselling where appropriate
* Be well-informed about all menu items, with a strong focus on allergens and dietary requirements
* Maintain a clean, presentable, and inviting front-of-house and seating area
Kitchen & Operational Support
* Assist with food preparation and kitchen duties as directed by the Chef Manager
* Follow all Health & Safety and food hygiene regulations
* Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks across both front and back of house
* Ensure all opening and closing procedures are completed to standard
Essential
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience as a Barista (certification or hands-on experience)
* Strong customer service skills with a positive, team-oriented attitude
* High attention to detail and cleanliness
* Ability to work independently during quieter periods
* Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or front-of-house environment
* Basic understanding of Health & Safety practices in food service
Desirable
* Food handling or Health & Safety certification
* Formal Barista training or certification
