Position Overview
This role is a Civil Enforcement Officer responsible for patrolling the Stoke and Staffordshire areas to keep traffic moving, provide advice to residents, businesses and visitors, and enforce traffic regulation orders fairly, accurately, and consistently.
Key Responsibilities
* Patrol and enforce parking restriction across the assigned areas.
* Provide advice to residents, businesses and visitors on traffic regulations and parking enforcement.
* Maintain records and handle reporting in accordance with council policies.
* Engage with members of the public face‑to‑face, remaining calm in difficult situations.
Hours and Shift Pattern
37 hours per week across a 6‑week rotating shift pattern covering Monday to Sunday (including Bank Holidays). Flexibility and willingness to work varying shifts are essential.
Remuneration
Level 5 plus shift allowance: £26,403 – £28,598 per annum.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Full driving licence.
* Basic computing skills to use a hand‑held device daily.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Additional Information
Previous applicants need not apply, but any current staff at risk of redundancy will receive priority. The position is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the successful applicant will undergo a criminal record check (DBS).
