PQA, a leading provider of weekend performing arts training, is currently recruiting Performing Arts Teachers in Comedy and Drama, Musical Theatre Film & TV, and Poppets (4-5yr olds) for their academy in Livingston, West Lothian on Saturdays from 9am to 12.30pm.
Musical Theatre
You will need knowledge of practical Singing, Dance, Drama and Performance techniques and be able to teach a range of genres from Pop to Musical Theatre, Acting Through Song to Musical Theatre on Film and there is the opportunity to choreograph for PQA's West End Season, book musicals and showcases.
Comedy & Drama
You will need have a wide-ranging knowledge of practical drama and be able to teach a range of subjects which might range from improv to stand Up, Shakespeare to contemporary text, and immersive to devised theatre.
Film & TV
You will be leading filmmaking workshops with children from 6 – 18 years creating material that can ultimately be screened in a local cinema and shared online. You will ideally have some experience working with children and young people and have a strong background making short films or television.
Poppets
You will need practical skills in acting, singing and movement, be able to create your own lesson plans ranging from outer space to under the sea to provide sessions exploring stories, songs and characters. Poppets is high-energy, educational and fun
PQA follows safer recruiting and a PVG check is required. Pay will start at £70 per academy session (3.5hrs) and £35 per Poppets session (1.5hrs) with around 1-2hrs prep time between sessions. Role is for 41 sessions (Saturdays) throughout the year and pay may increase depending on experience and any other responsibilities. We are committed to fair, transparent fees, and final rates will be agreed with successful applicants before contracts are issued.
