Teaching Personnel have a great opportunity to work with a Alternative provision school in Newcastle.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Create a culture of positive behaviour and support staff with student engagement
* Individual mentoring of students regarding behaviour and leading the staff team to have clear structured intervention plans
* Visible presence in class and around the site to assist staff with behaviour and to create a positive learning environment
* Take the lead on positive points and rewards system
* Lead the schools community outreach program through engagement projects, work experience opportunities and character development
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
* Experience of leading in pastoral areas within education
* Experience of leading behavioural expectations of student provisions
PREFERRED SKILLS
* Experience working with children and young people in an educational setting
* Knowledge of relevant legislation (SEND Code of Practice, safeguarding, GDPR)
* Familiarity with zones of regulation or similar interventions
* Excellent written and verbal communication
* Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
* Use of assistive technology/adaptive equipment
* Child centred and inclusive approach
* Creative and adaptable in problem-solving
