I’m currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join the finance team of a well-established, family-run business based in Stokesley. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid accounts experience who is looking to develop their skills in a varied and hands-on role.
Working within a friendly, collaborative office environment, you’ll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the smooth running of day-to-day finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage purchase ledger, including invoice processing and supplier payments
2. Perform statement reconciliations and manage cash control
3. Conduct debtor reviews and analysis
4. Process direct debits and reconcile credit card transactions
5. Support credit control activities
6. Reconcile data between software systems
7. Carry out general office and administrative duties
8. Communicate effectively with colleagues across the wider business
9. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers
Skills & Experience
10. Self-motivated, organised, and proactive with a positive attitude
11. Confident working independently and as part of a team
12. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
13. Comfortable handling difficult conversations when needed
14. Previous experience within an accounts or finance department is essential
15. Good IT skills – knowledge of Xero and Excel would be an advantage
16. Ideally studying towards or holding AAT Level 2 or 3 (not essential)
