The role
As a SHE Trainer, you’ll have a highly rewarding position where your expertise makes a meaningful difference every day. You’ll contribute directly to the safety of people, assets and critical national‑security operations. You will also have the opportunity to develop professionally as you work with a supportive team, apply your specialist knowledge and help embed best practice across the site.
Day-to-day, you’ll play a vital role in shaping a strong, positive safety culture across one of the UK’s most important defence sites. You’ll deliver high‑quality training to employees with a wide range of experience, from in‑house safety awareness courses to externally accredited QCF programmes, helping to ensure the safety, health and environmental competence of the Devonport workforce.
1. Deliver a range of high‑quality Health and Safety training courses to employees at varying experience levels.
2. Maintain professional standards set by relevant associations and awarding bodies to ensure compliant training delivery.
3. Provide subject‑matter expertise to support the routine review and amendment of course content.
4. Support the development and maintenance of a quality management system, including lesson plans, objectives and course tracking.
5. Carry out administration and reporting duties associated with training delivery and support a positive safety culture across the site.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential experience of the SHE Trainer
6. Maintain professional standards set by relevant associations and awarding bodies to ensure compliant training delivery.
7. Provide subject‑matter expertise to support the routine review and amendment of course content.
8. Support the development and maintenance of a quality management system, including lesson plans, objectives and course tracking.
9. Carry out administration and reporting duties associated with training delivery, promote a positive safety culture, and ideally bring experience delivering accredited safety or compliance‑based training programmes.
10. Deliver high‑quality Health and Safety training courses to employees with varied experience levels.
Qualifications for the SHE Trainer
11. NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
12. Level 3 Award in Adult Education and Training, or equivalent
13. Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocational Achievement, or equivalent
14. Additional safety‑related qualifications or training certifications - Desirable
