Description
We’re looking for a skilled Data Engineer to take ownership of our data infrastructure, helping us build scalable and reliable data products that power decision-making across the organization. This role is critical in shaping how we collect, process, and expose data to internal teams and external customers. You’ll have end-to-end responsibility for our data warehouse and pipelines, and will work closely with engineering, product, clinical, and commercial teams to deliver impactful insights and capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
Own and evolve our data warehouse, ensuring it remains scalable, secure, and fit for purpose
Design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Apache Airflow
Develop and manage BigQuery schemas, tables, and views for optimized analytics and reporting
Write performant and maintainable SQL and Python code to support data transformations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data products
Implement data quality checks, lineage tracking, and observability across pipeline
Contribute to defining and evolving data modeling best practices (e.g., star/snowflake schemas)
Support internal self-serve analytics and external data integrations as neededQualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
Master’s degree preferred but not required
5+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role
Strong hands-on experience with Apache Airflow, BigQuery, SQL, and Python
Solid understanding of modern data warehousing, data modeling, and pipeline orchestration
Familiarity with cloud platforms (preferably GCP) and version control (e.g., Git)
Experience working in healthcare environments and handling PHI in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Proven ability to work independently, own end-to-end systems, and collaborate with stakeholders
Attention to detail, with a mindset for automation, maintainability, and performance
Nice to have: Experience with dbt, Metabase, event-driven architectures, Kubernetes, Terraform, API design, or GraphQLSkills
