Position:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Interim Area Technical Manager within our Medical Physics based at University Hospital Crosshouse.
What you will do:
We have an opportunity for an Acting Area Technical Manager post within the Medical Physics Department for an interim 6-month period to support service redesign. This is a highly skilled and experienced technologist/engineer role and a good career opportunity for internal applicants.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
You will preferably have a degree in Medical Technology, Applied Physics, Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent level of experience within an NHS setting. Completion of medical physics technologist training scheme or equivalent is required.
You should have a wide knowledge of basic scientific principles of medical equipment, its operation, safety features and application. Applicants should be inspiring, have excellent communication skills, be able to demonstrate appropriate solutions to complex technical issues and have proven leadership and management capabilities.
Extensive post-qualification experience should include the technical support of a wide range of complex, life supporting medical equipment such as anaesthetic machines and ventilators, infusion devices, renal dialysis and other front line medical equipment. Candidates should be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in managing projects, procuring and managing capital equipment. Experience in finance and people management is essential
