Leigh Academy Minster is a welcoming and supportive school seeking a motivated Teaching Assistant Apprentice to join a collaborative team. Role
Teaching Assistant Apprentice at Leigh Academy Minster. This role provides hands-on experience in education, with guidance and mentorship to develop essential skills for a career in teaching and pupil support.
Responsibilities
* Support pupil learning and wellbeing on a day-to-day basis within a classroom setting.
* Assist teachers in delivering a high-quality, student-centred curriculum across subject areas from year 7 onwards.
* Contribute to creating an inclusive and respectful school culture aligned with the academy’s ethos.
* Engage with families and the school community to support students’ academic and personal development.
Qualifications and Skills
* Essential entry qualifications: 5 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or equivalent, including Mathematics and English.
* Excellent communication skills, genuine empathy, and a collaborative mindset.
* A positive work ethic, can-do attitude, and a commitment to supporting pupils.
* A desire to learn and develop within a school setting.
Contract and Programme Details
* Working weeks: Monday – Friday during school term time plus 1 week.
* Total hours per week: 37 hours per week (including 20% training element of the Apprenticeship Programme).
* Apprenticeship duration: Approximately 18 months plus End Point Assessment (EPA).
* Programme delivery: All modules delivered online, accessible from the workplace.
* Salary: £13,934 per annum (£16,200 full-time equivalent) based on 37 hours per week, Term Time + 1 week inset.
