About The Role
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Production Stock Controller to join our Operations team in Aston Clinton. Reporting to the Production Planning & Stock Control Manager, you will take full responsibility for managing all on-site inventory. This is a pivotal role ensuring that materials and products flow smoothly through the production process and that stock levels are accurate, controlled, and aligned with business needs.
You will work closely with production, procurement, and other internal teams to maintain optimal stock levels, support efficient manufacturing, and uphold high standards of compliance and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
Maintain accurate stock levels of raw materials, components, and finished goods to support production schedules.
Stock Control
Monitor stock movements, ensure correct storage and rotation, and minimise waste using FIFO and other best practices.
Stocktaking
Conduct routine stock checks, reconcile discrepancies, and maintain robust inventory records.
Receiving & Issuing Stock
Issue materials to production in a timely manner.
Receive and correctly store finished goods and inbound materials.
Coordination & Communication
Liaise with production, procurement, and other departments to ensure material availability and resolve stock-related issues quickly and effectively.
Reporting
Produce accurate reports on stock levels, variances, and other key inventory metrics.
Compliance
Support and promote the company's compliance management system.
Ensure all staff follow product compliance obligations, policies, and procedures.
Encourage a culture of compliance and actively participate in corrective actions or audit follow-ups.
Maintain relevant compliance registers and product certifications (where applicable).
Person Specification
Essential:
GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
Understanding of manufacturing processes.
Strong problem-solving skills and an efficient, solutions-focused approach.
Approachable, flexible, and able to adapt to changing business needs.
Strong MS Office skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present data clearly and confidently.
Desirable:
Qualifications related to manufacturing or operations.
Experience in an office or production/supply planning environment.
