Our School:
Kingsland School is a split site provision catering for pupils aged 11 16 years of age.
Our Broadbent Road site is a Pupil Referral Unit which offers Day 6 provision for those pupils who have been permanently excluded from an Oldham Secondary School or Academy. Our second site, known as Laurel Bank currently hosts our Specialist Learning Centre and is based in Shaw, Oldham. This provision is for pupils experiencing social, emotional or mental health and medical needs which creates a barrier to their attendance at school. This site also hosts our unique provision catering for pupils from the SLC with an Educational Health Care Plan and is a base for our Primary Outreach Team.
Role Overview:
We are seeking to appoint experienced, self-motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistants to join our team. The successful candidates will be qualified HLTA’s or candidates who are willing to undertake the appropriate training to achieve this. If you are passionate about improving the life chances of vulnerable young people then please apply for this position. The successful candidates must be able to work flexibly across our sites and with both KS3 and KS4 pupils of all abilities. In order to do this, they will need their own vehicle and appropriate experience and insurance.
We are looking for candidates who are able to promote positive values, who are able to manage challenging behaviour, conflicts and incidents whilst encouraging pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviour and promoting self-control. A key element of this role is to support teachers, deliver PPA and cover teacher sickness absence.
You will be expected to:
* Provide cover for classes, delivering lessons as set by the teacher.
* Plan and prepare creative and challenging teaching and learning objectives.
* Assess, record and report on pupils achievements, progress and development.
Due to split site arrangements across Oldham the successful candidate must be willing and able to travel independently and at short notice between sites as required.
About Us:
The successful candidate will work with a committed and supportive staff team.
Kingsland School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure & Barring Service.
All staff are employed by Kingsland School and are expected to work at all sites.
