This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking for a fresh challenge, and who wants to build on their existing skills and knowledge.
What's the role?
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Partnerships and New Business, the Development Officer will play an important role supporting the Independent Living Review - helping to provide new homes for older people - and support our drive to increase the supply of new, affordable homes in general.

Work collaboratively with colleagues from across the whole organisation to ensure that new homes are well designed and fit for purpose
Support in design teams as scheme plans and designs are prepared for approval and planning applications
Play an active role in resident consultation and involvement on regeneration projects
Support the management of all aspects of the development process across multiple schemes - in particular ensuring that scheme files and records are kept up to date
Carry out viability assessments to ensure that new schemes meet WCH's financial viability criteria.
What are we looking for?
The right candidate will be passionate about our role in the communities we serve and about providing new affordable homes. You will have the ability to interact empathetically with a wide variety of people and be able to learn new skills quickly and become selfsufficient in your work.
Essential:
Strong customer service skills and experience
Attention to detail
Experience of communicating effectively in person, on the telephone and in writing
Flexibility and adaptability in approach to allocated work
Good IT skills and enthusiasm to learn new applications
Experience of working within a prescribed framework but ability to think creatively to resolve problems
Ability to liaise well with other teams to ensure delivery of wider corporate goals
A full driving licence and access to own vehicle
Desirable:
Knowledge of the housing sector development
Knowledge of Pamwin appraisal and cashflow management tools
What can we offer you?
