Analyst, FI Equity at EBRD


Purpose of Job

The Analyst contributes to all phases of the project cycle, including origination, structuring, execution, implementation and monitoring. The Analyst takes responsibility for due diligence, financial, market, integrity and EBRD policy compliance, and post‑signing implementation.


Accountabilities & Responsibilities

* Structuring and Execution
o Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of background material, market information, and target company financial and operational data.
o Evaluate potential risks related to the proposed project, including analysis of financial statements and regulatory filings.
o Prepare financial models and stress‑test projections, including capital adequacy, asset quality and profitability metrics.
o Carry out initial valuation assessments using a variety of valuation techniques.
o Contribute to preparation of term sheets, participate in negotiations, and review legal documentation.
o Support transaction execution working with clients, authorities, consultants and internal support units.
o Assist with the design and processing of technical co‑operation assistance, including preparation of terms of reference and internal approval documentation.
o Assist with communication with internal units, clients and stakeholders, preparing draft correspondence, presentations and following up on internal emails.
o Ensure all tasks are completed on time, to high quality and in line with Bank policies.
* Portfolio Monitoring, Value Creation and Reporting
o Monitor an assigned portfolio of investments, track implementation of value‑creation plans, update internal valuations and highlight major variances/issues.
o Ensure timely collection of covenanted reports and relevant market information.
o Draft clear and concise investment monitoring reports; identify key issues and recommend corrective actions.
o Maintain regular communication with counterparties at portfolio companies.
o Assist with the effective implementation and monitoring of technical co‑operation assignments, including client communication, fund usage tracking, and donor reporting.


Qualifications and Skills

* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related field (Master’s and/or professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, CIMA are desirable).
* Strong quantitative and numerical skills; proficiency in Excel and advanced financial modelling.
* Sector‑specific analysis experience (regulatory capital, solvency, asset quality, liquidity). Familiarity with FI market data platforms (Bloomberg, SNL, Refinitiv) is desirable.
* Ability to work effectively as a team member and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; fluent Russian is an advantage.
* Good presentation skills.


Experience & Knowledge

* Relevant financial industry experience from private equity, investment banking, auditing or financial consulting.
* Experience in the financial institution sector and emerging/frontier markets is desirable.
* Prior experience in the EBRD’s countries of operation is an advantage.
