Job Summary
The Hospital Palliative Care Team at Nottingham University Hospitals Trust seeks a Band 7 registered nurse to provide specialist palliative care to adult patients across the trust. The role involves delivering education to multidisciplinary teams, leading service development, and supporting end‑of‑life initiatives.
Main Duties
* Lead and provide a specialist palliative care service to patients with life‑limiting illnesses and their carers.
* Offer specialist advice, guidance and supervision to a caseload of patients and/or their carers, addressing complex symptom control and psycho‑social support needs.
* Deliver specialist education and support to all members of the multidisciplinary team.
* Develop and conduct clinical audit and research relevant to palliative care, actively engaging in change management.
* Assume strategic and clinical leadership in the development and delivery of local palliative care services, aligned with national, regional and local strategies.
* Support excellence in end‑of‑life care and maintain close working relationships with all statutory and voluntary agencies involved in patient care.
Qualifications
* NMC registration.
* Relevant degree (first‑degree level).
* Recognition of a qualification in palliative care or equivalent experience.
Essential Experience
* Significant experience in a senior nursing role.
* Experience caring for palliative and end‑of‑life patients.
* Experience delivering teaching to multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable Experience
* Specialist palliative care experience.
* Experience in service development.
