Senior Information Analyst Agenda for change Band 6 Number of posts: 2 wte fixed term for 30 months Cancer Information Team NHS Lothian / South East Scotland Cancer Network We have two exciting opportunities for individuals with information analysis experience to join the NHS Lothian Cancer Information Team (CIT) with a remit to work on Cancer Performance, a specific project focused on Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy outcomes, and other relevant CIT projects. The CIT supports the Edinburgh Cancer Centre and the South East Scotland Cancer Network (SCAN) with a series of regular reports and an ad hoc data request service using a wide range of cancer data sources. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team you will be responsible for linking, analysing, interpreting and presenting complex data from NHS data systems. This includes topic areas such as cancer medicines and secondary care patient management; you will contribute to the development of new processes by providing evidence to support service development. This post requires highly developed information technology and analysis skills with knowledge and experience of data capture, linkage and presentation through visualisation techniques. You will be required to collaborate with non-analytical colleagues to best understand the data from a clinical perspective, therefore effective and confident communication skills are necessary as well as a degree of initiative and autonomy. You are required to have a Higher degree with a numerical and statistical content. Relevant experience of information analysis, ideally in a healthcare environment, is also required.
