Job Description:
We are seeking to expand our Amazon Machinery Safety Compliance Inspection team with Safety Engineers to influence the safe design and operation of Amazon's cutting-edge technology across our facilities.

The successful candidates will conduct equipment inspections based on predefined criteria to ensure safety improvements. The role requires knowledge of EU machinery safety standards, PUWER/UWED applications, and regulations across European countries. Emphasis is on sound safety engineering principles, machinery knowledge, and engaging with cross-functional teams to develop compliant processes.
Location involves a mix of on-site and office work, with frequent travel up to 60-70%.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting Amazon facilities through risk assessments of machinery and equipment.
* Developing safety solutions that meet high standards for safety, risk reduction, and operational excellence.
* Managing inspection team involvement and reviewing corrective actions.
* Collaborating with engineering, reliability, maintenance, procurement, and real estate teams.
* Prioritizing support requests and supporting health and safety objectives.
* Contributing to project development and acting as a machinery safety advisor.
* Maintaining inspection data and planning travel efficiently.
Basic qualifications:
* Bachelor degree or equivalent as per European Qualifications Framework.
* Experience in machinery inspection roles.
* Knowledge of Robotics and Material Handling Equipment.
* Understanding of EU Machine Directive 2006/42/EC and standards.
* Experience with risk assessments and managing safety inspections.
* Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related tools.
Preferred qualifications:
* Experience with Notified or Approved bodies for Machinery Safety.
* NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.
* Formal Machinery Safety training (e.g., CMSE).
* Experience with lean principles and process improvements.
* TUV Certified Functional Safety Engineer.
* Ability to manage projects with minimal supervision.
