About the role:
An opportunity has arisen for a Bank Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our Sample Reception team, based at 60 Whitfield Street/UCLH Site.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
• The receipt, identification and pre-analytical preparation & storage of samples and request forms for various service users.
• Triaging and despatching all samples to correct locations, ensuring an accurate audit trail via the tube tracker system.
• Referral of samples to third party laboratories.
• Working with the RRL Helpdesk team, engaging with clients and service users via telephone and email.
No prior experience is required but the successful candidate will have good computer skills, good verbal & written communication skills, work well in a team and a flexible approach to both workload & task allocation.
The laboratory operates a 24/7 service so the successful candidate will be expected to participate in shifts to cover this period, according to departmental needs.
