Overview:
We are seeking a
Senior CFD Engineer
to lead computational fluid dynamics work across the energy sector. This role covers early concept studies, detailed design, operational support, and late-life/decommissioning. You will own CFD scopes, converting complex simulations into clear, decision-ready outcomes for clients.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver CFD workstreams within multi-disciplinary projects.
* Run simulations using CFX and internal toolsets; perform supporting calculations.
* Produce technical notes, reports, and client briefings.
* Act as client interface; contribute to proposals, marketing, and industry forums.
* Ensure compliance with design bases, standards, procedures, and QA processes.
* Draft and review specifications, procedures, and datasheets.
* Travel occasionally for workshops, reviews, and presentations.
Requirements:
* Engineering degree (or equivalent).
* Proven CFD experience in energy or oil & gas; CFX experience preferred.
* Strong fundamentals in thermodynamics, fluid properties, and phase behaviour.
* Understanding of process facility and utilities design.
* Experience with steady-state modelling and uncertainty assessment.
* Excellent written and verbal communication; client-facing experience.
* Proficient in MS Office.
Desirable:
* Proposal input and CFD scope estimation experience.
* Interest or experience in energy transition work (CCUS, hydrogen, renewables).
