As an Area Manager, you’ll ensure your site operates smoothly to meet customer demand. You will lead a team that maintains safety, efficiency, and high quality, while managing various projects across our network to enhance productivity.

3. Manage projects to streamline processes, optimize productivity, and improve service quality within your area
4. Assess shift performance against business objectives and implement actions for operational excellence

German language skills (C1-level at least) are mandatory!
A day in the life
You’ll work on a shift pattern at one of our sites, focusing on productivity. Your main responsibilities include fostering a safety culture, maintaining quality and performance standards, overseeing process improvements, and driving implementation. Your day will be varied, involving team management, operational tasks, process improvements, and contingency planning. You will also serve as a role model and mentor to new managers.

The Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) team is essential for Amazon’s delivery speed. As part of ATS, you’ll join a diverse team that plays a crucial role in our success, utilizing air, sea, and road transport, along with advanced sortation centers. We leverage data to inform decisions, making Amazon more innovative and efficient. Our priority is safety, and we rely on our people’s expertise to deliver packages quickly, conveniently, and sustainably.
Minimum qualifications
* A degree
* Relevant experience in people management
* Experience communicating with diverse stakeholders, including peers and leadership
* Experience using data or anecdotal evidence to influence decisions
* Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and the local language
Preferred qualifications (not required)
* Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques
* Experience in another logistics environment
* Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional setting
