Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roof Tiler to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on various types of buildings. Responsibilities
* Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and specifications to determine the appropriate roofing methods and materials.
* Install new roofing systems using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
* Repair or replace damaged roofing components, including tiles, slates, or metal sheets.
* Use welding techniques where necessary for metal roof components or flashing installations.
* Operate fabrication equipment for custom metalwork or specialised roofing parts.
* Perform heavy lifting of materials such as tiles, slates, or timber to facilitate installation or repairs.
* Assist with related construction tasks such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or general site preparation as required.
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency on-site.
* Follow all health and safety regulations during work activities to minimise risks.
Skills
* Proficiency in reading schematics and technical drawings related to roofing projects.
* Experience with welding and fabrication techniques for metal roofing components.
* Skilled in the use of hand tools (e.g., hammers, chisels), power tools (e.g., drills, saws), and specialised roofing equipment.
* Knowledge of construction practices with a focus on roofing systems.
* Ability to work with various materials including tiles, slates, metal sheets, and flashing components.
* Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting and working at heights over extended periods.
* Basic understanding of plumbing, masonry, carpentry, and general construction principles is advantageous but not essential.
