Role description:
As part of the Development Led Infrastructure team, we are looking to appoint an NEC Supervisor to oversee the construction of primary infrastructure on a number of schemes from our Cambridge office.
Role accountabilities:
Working collaboratively within the integrated delivery team as NEC Supervisor you will be responsible for:
1. Undertaking the duties of Supervisor as stated in the Contract (NEC 3 ECC Option C).
2. Acquainting yourself with the Suppliers design and raising queries with regards to constructability in terms of safety and quality.
3. Reviewing the Suppliers Inspection and Test Plans to agree witnessing requirements.
4. Witnessing on-site testing and commissioning and keeping appropriate records of results.
5. Identification and notification of any Defects in accordance with the Contract
6. Verifying the standards of work and the materials supplied by the contractor are as specified in accordance with the Contract
7. Monitoring the progress of the works providing advice to the Client Project Manager of any risks and issues.
8. Submitting reports on a weekly basis to the Client Project Manager to advise on progress and the status of construction related safety, quality and completion issues
9. Maintaining appropriate records of site inspections, tests and audits.
10. Attending meetings and inspections, both on and off site as required.
11. As part of the integrated delivery team you will be expected to contribute to
12. Maintaining high standards of safety and quality control on the contract via the monitoring of the construction works
13. Resolution of technical problems on site
14. Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner; meeting and collaborating with the integrated delivery team to form strong working relationships
Qualifications & Experience:
15. NEC Accredited, along with experience in carrying out duties of an NEC Supervisor, and up to date working knowledge of the contracts
16. Degree in Civil Engineering or related disciplines
17. Experience of the design and construction of highway infrastructure projects
18. Good writing, client-facing and communication skills
19. Diligent, proactive and thorough approach to detail.
20. Collaborative and practical approach to problem solving
