The Catering Supervisor is a key leadership role within the structure of RAF Biggin Hill Museum & Chapel. Responsible for designing and preparing the daily, seasonal and specials menu, this role is hands on and leads the kitchen by example. Whilst the primary function of the role is creating and serving delicious meals for our visitors, tasks will include the daily operational procedures of the café such as: cash handling; working the till; preparing and serving food and drinks; cleaning; stacking the dishwasher; opening & closing procedures, volunteer supervision and food ordering. Following HACCP procedures, this role takes the lead in ensuring that the kitchen and café retain our 5 star food hygiene rating. The Catering Supervisor ensures that Customer Service is always of the highest possible standard. Supported by our Café Assistant and a team of dedicated Café Volunteers, this role will help the Director and Assistant Director to facilitate group bookings and special events at site; and assist in building a welcoming environment to encourage repeat visits and increase visitor footfall, specifically during the quieter periods. As the nature of the business can have seasonal peaks and troughs, this role can have periods of working under high pressure. The Catering Supervisor will lead change through extending trading hours and increasing the visitor offer.
