Compliance Analyst
to join our
Connections Reporting & Insights team

Northern Powergrid

In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring Northern Powergrid remains compliant with current licence conditions and regulations during the delivery of connections operations. You'll support the preparation of accurate and timely regulatory returns, track our compliance against licence conditions, and help resolve issues by implementing process improvements based on customer feedback.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has worked in a compliance role within a regulated industry or has experience of legal frameworks on how to ensure a business remains compliant.

What will you do?
* Monitor and assess compliance with regulatory requirements, licence conditions, and internal policies
* Track regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business
* Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure awareness and understanding of compliance obligations
* Conduct compliance reviews and risk assessments across business functions
* Support the preparation of regulatory submissions and responses to audits or information requests
* Track, measure, and report performance against licence conditions and guaranteed standards
* Prepare material for price control reviews and business plan submissions
* Investigate customer issues and support process improvements
* Manage compliance of all Connections Systems, including the website
* Deliver training on connection legislation and regulations
* Support GDPR breach investigations and reporting
* Assist the DSO Assurance Manager and Reporting & Insights Manager
* Mentor the compliance analysts within the team
Key Competencies
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in regulatory reporting
* Ability to interpret and apply licence conditions and guaranteed standards
* Skilled in preparing management information and performance metrics
* Experience supporting compliance reviews and operational improvements
* Comfortable working across directorates and managing multiple priorities
* Clear communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Ability to deliver training and support legislative interpretation
Qualifications and Attributes
Essential Qualifications and Experience
* Educated to A-Level or equivalent in a relevant field such as law, business, economics or risk management
* Strong understanding of the UK regulatory frameworks
* Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Proficient in compliance management tools
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
* Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant field such as law, business, economics or risk management
* Familiarity with the UK regulatory framework for the industry
* Project management experience and ability to manage multiple deadlines
