Are you passionate about the power of creativity to inspire change? Do you believe in the role of art as a vehicle for self-expression, rehabilitation, and employability?
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Art Tutor to deliver AIM and NCFE art qualifications (up to Level 2) to a small cohort of learners in a secure setting. You’ll play a key role in transforming lives through engaging, restorative art education that encourages personal growth, self-confidence, and future opportunities.
What you’ll do:
* Deliver structured, engaging art lessons aligned with AIM and NCFE qualification standards.
* Use adaptive teaching techniques to meet the varied needs of learners, including those with neurodivergent needs or mental health challenges.
* Integrate restorative practices to create a safe, inclusive and reflective learning space.
* Work closely with prison staff, key workers, and healthcare professionals to support holistic learner development.
* Encourage creativity and pride by organising competitions and showcasing artwork throughout the prison.
* Support learners to build employability and transferable skills through artistic projects and collaborative work.
Who we’re looking for:
* Someone with a recognised Level 2 qualification in Art (or equivalent experience).
* A confident, calm communicator with the ability to engage diverse groups in a challenging environment.
* A creative educator who can inspire and adapt, making learning meaningful for each individual.
* Ideally, someone with experience delivering accredited Art qualifications at Level 1 or 2 (though we’ll support the right person working towards a teaching qualification).
* A strong team player who’s passionate about promoting literacy, inclusion, and self-development through the arts.
* Make a tangible impact by using your creativity to support rehabilitation and reduce reoffending.
* Be part of a supportive and committed education team working in partnership with prison services.
* Access ongoing professional development and opportunities to grow your career in a rewarding and unique environment.
