Grounds Maintenance Operative
Exmouth
Monday to Wednesday 7:30am to 4:30pm and Thursday to Friday 7:30am till 4:00pm
PAY £12.60 ph
MUST HAVE DRIVING LICENCE (no more than 6 points)
MAIN ACTIVITIES
1. To be responsible within an identified area and as part of a team for:
Grounds maintenance and vegetation management tasks such as grass cutting, hedge trimming, shrub bed maintenance including pruning, and weed spraying etc often using powered pedestrian and hand held equipment
2. As demand dictates, removing litter, emptying litter bins, removing small amounts of graffiti, trimming or removing weed growth and overhanging shrubs etc
3. To respond to and resolve simple issues that arise on a day to day basis and to highlight other issues to the Public and Green Space Team Leader
4. To report issues adversely affecting the look and feel of the public realm such as damaged streetscene or greenspace furniture, fly-tipping, stray dogs, dog fouling, abandoned cars, littering, illegal use of council land, bins left on pavements etc
5. To inform members of the public and businesses about your work and help them with their queries and complaints
Requirements of the role:
Must have driving licence (ideally clean)
Be physically fit as the role is very physical
Have some grounds maintenance experience
Able to work both as a team and on your own at times
