Are you ready to influence a site-wide engineering transformation? Our client, a well established manufacturing leader, is seeking a Project Engineer to help revolutionise their maintenance strategy, drive automation upgrades, and take charge of delivering key site projects from day one.

What You'll Be Doing:
* Take ownership of automation led improvement projects from idea to implementation.
* Lead on PLC upgrades, software changes, and support obsolescence management.
* Drive automation performance, collaborating with OEMs to resolve issues and deliver smart solutions.
* Support and develop shift engineers with automation best practices.
* Utilise data and root cause analysis to boost OEE and minimise downtime.
* Deliver automation elements within CAPEX and site infrastructure projects.
* Be the guardian of the site panel risk register and periodic system health checks.
* Champion safety, SOP development, and engineering excellence.
* Collaborate closely with senior leadership to align automation with business growth plans.
What You’ll Bring:
* Proven experience in project delivery from small machinery tweaks to full production line installs.
* Strong working knowledge of Siemens S7, STEP 7, Simatic.
* Background in electrical or automation engineering within a high-speed manufacturing environment.
* Experience in root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and systems performance enhancement.
* Track record of liaising with contractors, OEMs, and technical teams.
* A hands on approach with the ability to plan, prioritise, and lead under pressure.
* Passion for driving change, improving reliability, and developing engineering processes.
* Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or ONC, HNC, Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or City &; Guilds Level 3 with industry experience.
* Previous experience in a maintenance and automation heavy environment.
* Strong decision-making and communication skills.
