Key Responsibilities Act as the technical interface between internal engineering teams and external suppliers to ensure components are manufacturable and compliant with design and technical flow down requirements. Visit supplier sites to provide hands-on technical support, particularly in resolving complex manufacturing issues or when suppliers are underperforming. Work closely with the Quality team to drive timely root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities. Use your knowledge of APQP, PFMEA, and PPAP to shape product definition and production processes, supporting Procurement and ensuring supplier adherence to quality requirements. Work closely with the Procurement team to integrate technical considerations into category strategies, supplier selection, and long-term relationship management. Participate in cross-functional reviews for design changes, engineering issues, and risk assessments impacting supply chain capability. Regular travel within the UK and occasionally Europe is required. Qualifications And Skills Required Experience in a similar manufacturing engineering or technical supply chain role in the defence, maritime, or high-integrity engineering sector. Degree/HNC/HND in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Production Engineering (or equivalent). Strong understanding of high-complexity manufacturing processes (such as machining, fabricated assemblies, PCBAs, welding, coatings, NDT, composites). Skilled in interpreting technical drawings, GD&T, materials specifications, and quality/process standards. Stakeholder management and negotiation skills to build customer and supplier relationships at all levels. Familiar with ERP/MRP systems and supply chain practices. The successful candidate will need to achieve relevant security vetting level status required for the role.
