Join to apply for the General Services Porter/Driver role at NHS Scotland.
The post holder will perform portering duties within wards, departments and office areas as required, contributing to patient care in line with organisational priorities. Driving duties may be undertaken occasionally to support the flow of patient discharges and urgent transport requests.
The successful candidate will work two weekdays as required to meet the needs of the service. This is 15 hours per week (Monday to Friday – two days; days will vary).
Responsibilities
* Deliver portering duties within wards, departments and office areas as required and instructed.
* Support patient care and hospital operations in line with organisational priorities.
* Assume driving duties occasionally to assist with patient discharges and urgent transport requests when required.
Qualifications and requirements
* Competence in domestic activities with flexibility and knowledge of the NHS Borders Behavioural Framework.
* Ability to work two weekdays as needed to meet service requirements.
* Awareness of the legal right to work in the United Kingdom and eligibility for sponsorship where applicable.
PleaseNote: The salary quoted is for full-time hours (37 hrs per week). For part-time appointments, the salary will be pro-rata. This role may require a different level of criminal records check from 1 April 2025. If the post is assessed as a regulated role, appointment will be subject to joining the PVG Scheme. Details will be confirmed by the Hiring Manager or Recruitment Team.
