🌟 Job Opportunity: Early Help Worker – Sefton 🌟
📍 Location: Magdalen House, Bootle, L20 3NJ
📅 Contract: Initial 6 months, with possibility of extension
🕘 Hours: 36 hours per week, Mon–Fri, 09:00–17:30

Sefton Council is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Early Help Worker to join our Localities Team. This role is vital in supporting families across Sefton through targeted and universal early help interventions that build resilience, empower residents, and improve life outcomes.
🛠 What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Delivering holistic support to children (0–19) and families as the single point of contact
2. Using solution-focused approaches to manage caseloads and develop tailored support plans
3. Undertaking home visits, coordinating multi-agency meetings, and promoting safeguarding best practices
4. Engaging families through 1:1 sessions and group activities
5. Maintaining detailed case records, reviews, and reporting in line with Council standards
6. Encouraging participation in community, voluntary and faith sector support services
✅ What We’re Looking For:
7. Experience supporting children and families in social care, early years, youth work, or related fields
8. Knowledge of safeguarding practices, assessment tools, and early help frameworks
9. Ability to work empathetically and challenge constructively to empower families
10. Excellent communication and organisational skills
11. Confidence using IT systems to manage casework
12. Flexibility to work across various delivery points and occasionally evenings/weekends
🔍 Desirable Qualifications:
13. GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
14. A Level 3 qualification in a relevant area (e.g. Health & Social Care, Childhood Studies, Youth Work)
🚗 Special Requirements:
15. Casual car user allowance may be applicable
16. Enhanced DBS clearance required
17. Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings/weekends if needed
