Job Description:

* Contract Role – 7 Months
* Hybrid - 2-3 days a week in Devonport or Bristol office
The Energy Division at ARM is recruiting an experienced Principal Electrical Services Engineer for a world-leading nuclear defense client based in Devonport dockyard.
Job Overview:
This role involves working on a major engineering project focused on upgrading a Defence facility in Plymouth, UK, supporting Vanguard and future Dreadnought Class submarines. The project has a 10-year timeline and is valued at £1 billion, marking a significant infrastructure development for UK’s Defence sector.
Responsibilities include:
* Preparing and checking designs, analyses, reports, drawings, and specifications for Nuclear and Non-Nuclear plant, facilities, and equipment at licensed, authorized, and operational sites or supporting external contracts.
* Participating in solving technical deficiencies and developing new designs.
* Reviewing and approving new designs, construction methodologies, and temporary works submitted to the Technical Authority.
* Managing design work packages, planning activities, and ensuring timely delivery of design outputs with progress reporting and technical reviews.
* Supervising and guiding junior staff on-site.
Qualifications needed:
* Design experience in electrical building services, including fire detection and alarm systems, industrial and emergency lighting, site broadcast (PA), and HVAC.
* Design of low voltage electrical distribution systems.
* A degree or HND in an appropriate engineering discipline.
* Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
