Teaching Assistant - Primary School (Level 2/3 Qualified)

Contract: Part-time or Full-time considered / Term-time only
Our vibrant and nurturing primary school in Preston is looking to appoint a motivated Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning across Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2. We are looking for a candidate who is committed to helping children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Main Duties:
Providing classroom support to ensure lessons run smoothly and pupils remain engaged.
Leading structured interventions and small-group activities to support literacy, numeracy, and wider curriculum areas.
Offering one-to-one support for pupils who may need additional help or guidance.
Assisting with assessment by observing and recording pupil progress for teacher review.
Helping with setting up and clearing away learning materials and classroom equipment.
Contributing to the wider school community, including supervising pupils during transition times and supporting behaviour expectations.
Essential Requirements:
A recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
Experience working within a primary school setting (desirable).
A caring, patient and proactive approach.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
A warm, supportive and adaptable approach to working with young children.
The ability to use initiative and work collaboratively with teaching staff.
