Please note that this vacancy may be withdrawn at any time should it be filled via the internal redeployment process Job Overview Outpatient Deputy Team Leader Band 6 OPD CTY An excellent and rare opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Team Leader to support the Outpatients Department in County Hospital for 24 hours per week. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Deputy Sister / Deputy Charge Nurse with a keen interest in Outpatient Nursing to support the Outpatient Unit. You will need to be committed to providing high quality nursing care, and provide evidence of strong leadership and a clear ability to mentor and support junior staff. You will need be a highly visible leader and be experienced as a professional role model. Working in a progressively changing environment you will need to promote the Trust’s values and be committed to high standards of service delivery. You will also need to show strong clinical skills and be able to develop opportunities to improve our patient’s experience and support the current departmental management. Candidates should be able to demonstrate leadership, and management skills. A level of experience in Outpatient nursing would be preferred, with a clear understanding of current healthcare issues. The main duties incorporate supporting and deputising for the ward manager within OPD, when necessary, thus enabling the Unit to function as seamlessly as possible and facilitating safe, individualised care for each service user. Main duties of the job The Deputy Unit Manager is a senior member of the Outpatient team and will be responsible for the care of patients attending the department and supporting the Unit Manager with the day to day clinical management of the Unit, you must have excellent communication skills, be highly motivated and have the ability to respond effectively to arising acute medical conditions and also be aware of pateints physical health needs. I will need to have sound clinical practice and be able so show guidance to junior staff, be adaptable, and capable of delivering a high standard of care for all our pateints. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
