Job Description
Shift pattern- 4on4off Nights 18:30pm-06:30am.
Salary- £37,553.34
1. Observing and adhering to company rules, site procedures and all aspects of Health & Safety and Hygiene at all times
2. Effectively managing own working time in line with the Road Transport Directive
3. Liaising with colleagues and ensuring completion of shift report
4. Conducting daily checks, immediately reporting any defects and / or damage and completing associated documentation
5. Carrying out trailer checks on loaded trailers and report to ops staff
6. Completing trailer checklist and reporting to operations desk
7. Carrying out shunting duties including relevant maintenance and safety checks
8. Liaising with the warehouse control and goods in staff to ensure smooth and efficient loading / unloading of trailers
9. Completing vehicles downloads as per the company policy
10. Monitoring services / MOTs – liaising with Transport Office and with service vendor
11. Assisting with fuel delivery / manual dip of fuel
12. Keeping yard in clean / tidy condition
13. Liaising with Transport Office as and when required i.e. special promotions and / or livery schedules
14. Manage the flow of traffic in and out of the yard
Qualifications
15. C+E licence required
16. Attention to detail / accurate
17. Ability to work without direct supervision
18. Adaptable and methodical approach to work / training
19. Conscientious and reliable
20. Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information
21. Able to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
22. Effectively prioritise workload in order to meet set deadlines
23. Able to work as part of a team or individually
24. Able to work effectively and communicate to the correct level
25. Have knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers’ hours
26. Be professional, approachable and helpful to ensure smooth running of the general operation
27. Maintaining a high standard of behaviour and appearance
