Flexible SEND & SEMH Cover Work | East Sussex
This role is a bit different from a standard education job.
We’re looking to build a strong pool of reliable educators and support staff who are open to flexible, day-to-day SEND and SEMH work across East Sussex.
Some weeks can be busy. Some quieter. The people who tend to enjoy this type of work are those who value flexibility, variety and meaningful classroom experience over rigid routine.
-----------------------------------
The Role
Opportunities may include:
* Teaching Assistant and Learning Support roles
* SEND and SEMH classroom support
* 1:1 pupil support
* Behaviour and engagement support
* Day-to-day teaching cover
You may be supporting pupils with additional behavioural, emotional or learning needs across a range of primary and secondary settings.
-----------------------------------
The Reality
A lot of this work comes through on the day.
That means:
* Calls between 7:30am – 8:00am
* Same-day placements
* Different schools and environments
* Flexible, ad-hoc working patterns
If you need guaranteed full-time work every week, this probably isn’t the best fit.
If flexibility works for your lifestyle, it can be a really good setup.
-----------------------------------
Who This Suits
This tends to work well for people who:
* Are calm, adaptable and reliable
* Can build positive relationships quickly
* Are confident working in different environments
* Have experience working with children or young people
* Want flexibility and variety in their work
Access to a car is a major advantage due to the nature of day-to-day cover work, though not essential.
-----------------------------------
Pay & Practical Information
* Teaching roles paid to scale
* Teaching Assistant / LSA roles paid at £92.60 per day
* Opportunities across East Sussex
* Immediate and upcoming work available
A child-only enhanced DBS on the Update Service is required.
If you do not currently hold one, you will need to apply for one through us. Support is provided throughout the process, though the cost is covered by the applicant.
