Job Purpose We are seeking a highly motivated Paralegal to join our Serious and Catastrophic Injury team, providing vital support to a senior solicitor handling high-value, complex personal injury claims. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual with a genuine interest in serious injury litigation, looking to develop their legal career with a diligent and supportive team. Training will be provided. Key Responsibilities Assist the senior solicitor with the day-to-day management of a caseload of complex serious injury claims (including brain, spinal, amputation and polytrauma cases). Draft legal documents including witness statements, instructions to counsel, schedules loss and correspondence. Conduct legal research and assist in the preparation of case strategy. Liaise with clients, experts, counsel, insurers and third parties in a professional and empathetic manner. Prepare and organise case files, disclosure, trial bundles and other documentation. Attend client meetings, conferences with counsel, and court hearings where appropriate. Maintain accurate and up-to-date case management records and ensure compliance with internal and external policies and procedures. Provide general administrative support to the senior solicitor as required. Experience and Knowledge Previous experience working in a personal injury or serious injury legal environment. Experience working on catastrophic or multi-track personal injury cases is desirable but not essential as training will be provided. Experience in assembling court bundles in line with UK court requirements. Familiarity with Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) is desirable but not essential as training will be provided. Familiar with SRA code of conduct and GDPR protection laws around confidentiality and client care is desirable but not essential training will be provided. Competence in drafting legal documents, such as instructing council and witness statements. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively. Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to deal sensitively and empathetically with clients and their families who have experienced life changing injuries. Familiarity with case management systems, training will be provided. Proficent in MS Office applications. CILEX qualifications are desirable but not essential.
