Design Engineering Apprentice

Do you enjoy solving technical problems and want to help design the electrical systems that power communities across the North West?
Join our Design Engineering Apprenticeship and gain the skills to develop and implement electrical substation layouts across all voltages, ensuring cost-effective and technically sound solutions.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Supporting the design and development of electrical substation layouts
* Ensuring designs meet technical standards, project timelines, and budgets
* Collaborating with engineers and stakeholders across the business
* Learning to use design tools and software to produce accurate and efficient layouts
* Contributing to real-world projects that impact the region’s energy network

What We’re Looking For
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (Grade 4-9 / A*-C)
Plus one of the following:
o Three A Levels (A*-C), including one STEM subject
o BTEC Level 3 National Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Merit or Distinction)
o ONC in Electrical Engineering or similar (Merit or Distinction)
We’re also looking for:
* Strong teamwork and communication skills
* A desire to learn and develop in a technical environment
* Motivation to build a long-term career in engineering and design
