Overview
As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do. It touches upon every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. Every single person who works here understands that our residents are people just like them with their own stories to tell. By joining us, you’ll have a wonderful opportunity to give something back to those people.
Main duties of the job
Day shifts and night shifts available, 3 on 3 off rotation. You will plan and implement the kind of care that gives residents a real sense of security, dignity and independence. You will get to know residents and their families, helping to ensure we deliver truly personalised care plans. You will lead a team of Care Assistants, maintaining the highest standards of care and acting as a positive influence on the team. You may show someone how to use a walking frame, assist someone at the end of life, or speak with a resident’s family on the phone, always with kindness. You will assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager in providing physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, and administer medication. A key responsibility is maintaining accurate records and building strong relationships within the team. Ideally, you’ll have a Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care and be prepared to work towards Level 3, with a background in person-centred care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia. You’ll also need strong record-keeping, time management and excellent communication with residents and co-workers.
