In Key Stage 3 art, students develop their knowledge in drawing, colour, painting, and sculpture across a range of topics. This is a nurturing practical, hands-on subject that encourages ideas and imagination, as well as developing fine motor skills.

This SEN school offers provision for pupils from 11-19 years, who have mild learning difficulties. The school provides a range of unique enabling environments, both indoor and outdoor, which are used to maximise learning opportunities and meet pupils' specific needs, allowing the students to gain independence and life skills.
Art Teacher Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement personalised educational programs
2. Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere
3. Create fun and engaging lessons for students that are presented in a sequential way
4. Monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches as the Art teacher in the classroom
5. Engage with parents and caregivers to support student development at home and in school
6. Work with and lead a support team within the classroom
Art Teacher Qualifications
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
2. SEN experience is desired but NOT required
3. Experience working in a primary education setting is preferred
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
